据悉，乐农轩以民间木屋的样式修建，区域内栽植了十余株蜡梅，品种以素心和狗牙蜡梅为主，经过颐和园多年的精心培育，姿态古雅，花量繁多香气浓郁。颐和园园林科技科副科长艾春晓介绍：“目前，颐和园蜡梅正处于观赏盛花期，预计一月底至三月初是颐和园蜡梅的最佳观赏期。现在开花率达到80%左右。”

和好友一起前来拍照打卡的陈先生笑着说道：“我每周都要来颐和园。乐农轩在初春时最美，因为有蜡梅，金色花朵被视为‘报春信使’，让人感受到时光流转的仪式美。”

游客张女士忍不住在蜡梅前连连拍照：“我是第一次来北京颐和园游玩，没想到初春能在颐和园看到这么美的蜡梅。蜡梅花瓣如蜡质般润泽，淡黄或金黄色的花朵十分美丽。而且蜡梅的香气不似春日花卉的甜腻，而是带着一丝清冷疏离的芬芳，令人神清气爽。”

“我们也推荐各位游客前往附近的寒心亭区域，这个区域种植的狗牙蜡梅目前也已经进入观赏的最佳时期。而且这个区域更加幽静，适合游客寻香探梅。”艾春晓介绍。
除了在乐农轩、益寿堂可以观赏到蜡梅外，在耕织图水村居、万寿山前山等地的蜡梅目前也已开放。在耕织图水村居前竹林边，近些年新种植了7、8株新品种蜡梅，在水村居北墙边及西大墙边20余株蜡梅已开放。在颐和园万寿山前山含新亭附近，狗牙蜡梅已盛开，吸引了不少游客观赏。

颐和园工作人员介绍：“每年春季前来乐农轩赏梅的游客较多。由于该区域门前是主通道，所以每年蜡梅开放期间，我们在高峰时段都会增加工作人员的巡逻和疏导工作，保护蜡梅的同时，也保障通道畅通，让前来观赏蜡梅的游客有一个舒适的游园环境。”
